Who are we?
Food 4 Thought is more than an organization, it’s a movement. What started simply as community service, has turned into a mission to retain and enhance collegiate talent in the city of Detroit. Driven by a desire to uplift the community, we focus on making a difference through peer networking, scholarships, and a combination of social, mental & physical health.
Our Team

Tyler Armstrong, President
Tyler is currently an Insurance Agent in Michigan. He graduated with his B.S. in Finance from Michigan State University in 2022. His motivation for working with Food 4 Thought is: “I am where I am today, not because I didn’t make mistakes or had it all figured out, but because I had people who believed and cared for me when I didn’t for myself. I live everyday to have a similar impact in others lives as well.”.

Oscar L. Garner III, Secretary
Oscar Garner is currently an Asset Consultant in Michigan. He graduated with his B.S. in Finance and Minor in Wealth Management from Michigan State University in 2021. His motivation for working with Food 4 Thought is: “I live to plant seeds that will not only bear fruit for myself, but also for those who need support and guidance. I stand on the shoulders of giants, and it would be a disservice to those giants to not allow others to stand on mine. Life is about progress and paying it forward and I’m just playing my part.”.

Emerson Rogers III, Treasurer
Emerson is currently a Financial Advisor in Texas. He graduated with his B.S. in Finance and Minor in Wealth Management from Michigan State University in 2022. His motivation is “I’ve witnessed friends with great ideas fall short due to lack of guidance. My motivation is to live in the full potential of Detroit youth.”.
